Name:
Brandi M. Mills (as of October 31, 2000: Formerly Smith)
Birthday: June 6, 1972
Personal Website: The
Snifter
Blog: Brandi
Mills' Web Journal
I was born
in small town in Missouri named Aurora.
After suffering in the far inferior township of Mt.
Vernon, Missouri for two years, my parents had the good sense
to move back to Aurora, home of the Hound Dogs and Beagle Pups. And
please, Don't Kick Our Dog.
Alas, I was forced to move away from Aurora at the tender age of twelve
to Southeast Texas. Groves, Texas to be precise, home of the Indians,
Braves and Warriors (notice a pattern?) which was about two
hours away from Houston. I hated it with a passion at first, but eventually
grew to accept it and made many great friends there. (Heya
Allyson, LYLAS!)
Halfway through my senior year I was again forced (screaming and kicking
- almost literally) to Little Rock, Arkansas. (And before you ask, NO,
I did not have an affair with Bill Clinton. And yes, I have been asked
that. Geesh.) Very pretty state with a morally pretentious moron (coughHuckabeecough)
for a Governor.
I did have a great time in college. Good ol' Arkansas
Tech University, home of the Wonderboys. Go ahead. Laugh. We all
did. I spent six years there (yes six) obtaining a four-year music degree.
No, I'm not stupid. I just didn't know exactly what I wanted to do (still
don't, for that matter) and kept taking classes not of my major, which
slowed down the graduation process. I don't regret a single class. Wait,
I take that back. I regret not finishing Piano.
After that, I kind of drifted. I had a great year at the Humane
Society of Pulaski County, but quickly realized it was run by
a Board of Directors that were insane, rich women who have nothing better
to do with their idle lives than to make animal caregivers miserable
with their interference and unqualified opinions. Ahem. Not that I harbor
any bitterness. (One exception to the 'insane' statement was Pam Nixon.
In case she happens to stumble across this page ;) ).
Anyway, moving on. In August of 1999 I met my future husband,
who happened to live in Southern Florida. In January OF 2000 I moved
myself and a few possessions to Florida, which has turned out to be
my least favorite living location. But I love my husband very much and
the move has been worth it.
Chris and I were married on Halloween Of 2000. As you can probably guess,
the 'theme' was Halloween and the place was decked out as such. In the
winter of 2004 we moved to Maine where we had always wanted to live.
In ways it's the best place I've ever lived and the worst, but that's
a long story and this 'short' biography has been going on too long already.
I started the Michael J. Fox Database back in early 1999. (For more
details on the history of the site, visit the Database
Information page.) I originally started the site because I could.
Everyone else had a site, so why not me? I chose Michael J. Fox as my
subject matter because I had a LOT of material collected from 1985 to
the present.
My focus for the site changed quickly when I realized that there were
only a handful of 'respectful' Michael J. Fox websites out there on
the web. Most of what I was seeing were sites designed by love-sick
little girls. Being a 'teen idol' is part of Michael J. Fox's popularity,
there is no denying that. However, his work has moved past that and
I think the fans need to do so as well. Therefore, I decided to make
the Database a more informational and less personal site than what I
was seeing. In other words, more information and less 'Oh, Michael is
SO dreamy!'
I've been a fan of Michael J. Fox since 1985 and I don't think that
my admiration for him and his work will ever leave me. Therefore, I'm
sure that I'll enjoy working on the this website for many years to come.
Here's to hoping that Mr. Fox's career continues on for many, many years
so that I'll have plenty of content. Huzzah!
