Thank you for the common sense comments above. Even though having P.D. is no walk(excuse the irony here)in the park, your comments added a bit of calm to a potentially almost silly situation. Of course I would like Michael to get as much positive exposure as possible. because the more press he gets, the more people know him , and I know the more they know him they will like him, and may donate to the foundation, and the closer we get to a cure-I am being selfish here, but come on.. this is a people’s not critics award for acting!?

Okay, kids, lets settle down.

First – turn off your cap locks. You look like you’re having a shouting match and if that was your intention, you need to cool off. It’s the People’s Choice Awards, not a Middle East Summit. Also – punctuation is your friend.

Second – Since it was the People’s Choice Awards you have to take it with a grain of salt. Most awards are popularity contests but none more than this one. The general public doesn’t vote for who deserves it, they vote for their favorites.

Third – Just because a celebrity does one thing doesn’t mean they can’t do something else. Some very good actors started off as singers, models, even beauty pageant queens so the argument that Katy Perry should go away and sing is silly. Michael J. Fox started out as an actor and now he’s also a writer, activist, etc.

Fourth – Michael J. Fox has Parkinson’s Disease and it’s certainly no picnic, but I don’t think he’s in a continuous state of ‘suffering’ and it really doesn’t matter if he is. The award is for an acting performance, not for who has the more debilitating disease.

So, let’s step back, take a breath and realize that arguing about something like an award and insulting people you don’t know is futile and, quite frankly, very rude.
