BRIEF SERIES DESCRIPTION
Set during the Great Depression of the 1930's, two young boys, one black, one white, become close friends. This causes conflict in the rural, southern town in which they inhabit.

This series is somewhat auto-biographical for Alex Haley. He grew up in an integrated southern town during the Depression and had a close friend who happened to be white.

The title of the show was changed from Palmerstown U.S.A. to Palmerstown in March 1981.
