The Michael J. Fox Database

Text on Back of Package

"Irresistible. Michael J. Fox is perfect." - Hal Hinson, The Washington Post

"Beverly Hills. The most beautiful women in the world. Plastic surgery. What do these three things have in common?" Dr. Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) asks. "Me, in less than a week!" It turns out to be an eye-opening week.
And Doc Hollywood turns out to be a witty charmer. Stone is a newly-minted MD whose medical fast lane cruise takes a small-town detour. Grady, South Carolina, Squash Capital of the South, is home to salt-of-the-earth folks (Julie Warner, Woody Harrelson, Bridget Fonda, David Ogden Stiers, Barnard Hughes) who give the West Coast-bound hotshot the seasoning he lacks.

Doc Hollywood is a surefire prescription for comedy cheer!

WEBMASTER'S REVIEW :: WARNING -- POSSIBLE SPOILERS
As there aren't any extras whatsoever on this DVD (unless you count Chapter Listings, which some DVD producers still do), the most I can comment on is the print quality of this DVD release.

The quality of the print is, as stated above, poor. It looks about as good as a new VHS tape, but not nearly as good as most DVDs look with films under 20 years of age.

Doc Hollywood was one of the first DVDs made and it certainly shows. Hopefully, in the future, a new, better release will be made available with the proper aspect ratio and a few extras.

I do recommend this disc, however. It's one of my favorite Michael J. Fox movies and since the film wasn't shot in scope, the (evil evil evil) pan and scanning isn't TOO aggravating. The best part, however, is knowing that the disc is not going to wear out with time, as VHS will do without fail.
