REVIEW :: WARNING -- POSSIBLE SPOILERS |
 |
The
long awaited DVD version of the very popular trilogy is finally
here! Now...if only it were correct.
Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part 2 and Back to the Future
Part 3 are beautifully packaged with tons of extra features. However,
parts 2 and 3 were framed incorrectly for this release. Why this
wasn't corrected before release is anybody's guess. (This did not
effect the Pan & Scan version, but why would you want Pan &
Scan anyway?)
NOTE: Universal released replacement discs for Parts 2 and
3 in Feburary 2003.
Most of the features on the disc are very informative and highly
entertaining. The films themselves are perfect time capsules of
the looks and attitudes of the 1980's decade and bring back many
memories for those of us who grew up during that time.
It is unfortunate that Robert Zemeckis declined to include himself
on the feature commentaries, but Bob Gale and Neil Canton do a great
job giving fans more intimate details of each film.
The only thing that was not included that I was hoping for was the
"Johnny B. Goode" video that ran on MTV after the film's
release.
For spanish speaking fans, many of the extra features include spanish
subtitles. However, this does not include the film commentaries. |
